Plasma televisions are known for their excellent picture quality and contrast.  If you are looking for a flat panel high definition television, Panasonic's are a great choice.  Plasma televisions are generally cheaper than LCD TV's, and unless you spend  a lot more for a high quality LCD HDTV, the picture quality will be better.  I recently upgraded from my 32 inch LCD TV to a 42" Panasonic Viera series TV.  I couldn't be more happy with my choice.  High def movies are stunning to watch now.  I wasn't sure if it would be worth it, but with the falling prices of these new tv's, I had to get it.  If you are purchasing a new plasma tv, I would recommend getting one with the full 1080p resolution to get the most out of your high def experience.  Also, high contrast is good; a larger contrast ratio means you will get sharper colors and deeper blacks.  Ordering online gets you a much better price for your Panasonic plasma TV than you can get in stores.  Oftentimes, shipping will be included, and you may not have to pay tax either.
